My first glamping experience

So I decided to treat the boys to a night of camping but obviously if I had to sleep in a tent in the middle of the woods, surrounded by wild animals for the night it had to be in style. I chose Camp Katur as firstly it was on my New Years bucket list of places to visit and because it had a bohemian feel and it looked full of things to do!

We arrived around 12pm but our tent wasn’t ready until 3pm but that wasn’t a problem as there is amples to do and I was excited to explore! Around the 300 acres of woodlands there is quad biking, zegways, zip lining and assault courses throughout. Little Brett was sightly small for some of the activities but nevertheless there is still plenty to do! They even have an eco-spa hot tub and sauna!
After a few hours climbing and exploring it was time to get to our tent, it was perfect and so cosy. I chose the geodome as it had its own private kitchen, toilet and shower (I didn’t fancy trekking to the communal area in the dark) Nevertheless they all looked great and the communal area was lovely with little lanterns. They even had a toy shed full of toys for children.

We had a bbq and a few glasses of fizz and lit the log fire. It was the first weekend the place was open after winter so although the log burner kept us warm during the evening at night it went out and was very cold! Tip: Go in the warmer season!

All in all it was great and I would definitely recommend to families, couples or a group of friends there is so much to do and it’s very out doorsy which I love especially for Brett!!

Our weekend was finished with a BBQ in the dales which was around a half an hour drive through some gorgeous postcard quaint villages!

Tips-

take plenty of warm clothes, a bright light, coal and fire lighters and lots of food as the closest shop is a 20 minute drive!

Also I would recommend choosing one with private facilities.

I booked direct with http://www.campkatur.com

Location is Bedale in the middle of the Yorkshire moores and dales.

And cost £110 for the night and is usually a 2 night minimum stay.

This place books up months in advance so if you like the look snap up a tent up.
